Leigh Academy Halley is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant, joining September 2026 on a permanent basis. This role delivers the curriculum to classes through working collaboratively with teachers and teaching assistants in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources.

What you will do:

  • Support, assist and supervise students during lessons and at lunchtimes.
  • Work with individuals or groups of students to address targets identified in their individual learning plans.
  • Promote and reinforce students’ self-esteem, independence and participation within the Academy community.
  • Support students who may exhibit challenging behaviour, are disaffected, have learning difficulties and complex needs.
  • Participate in the planning process to advise teachers on strategies as necessary.
  • Assist in the delivery of intervention and support programmes.
  • Provide assistance as required in the development of learning resources.

This role offers an actual salary of £31,612 per annum (£36,267 full-time equivalent), based on experience. This is working 35 hours per week (8:15am - 3:45pm, Monday to Friday), term time + 1 week inset. We are open to receiving applications from prospective candidates who wish to work part-time (32.5 hours per week).
