Job Description

Use your Trade Marketing skills to help craft the global marketing agenda and develop regional trade marketing campaigns to help grow the love for LEGO, our active share and consumer sales in Western Europe!

Bring your strong project and event management skills to lead the LEGO Group’s execution in the largest Toy Fair globally in Nuremberg as project lead.

Please note: The position will be based in our office in Munich or Slough and will follow a hybrid working model with 3 days in the office and up to 2 days working remotely. Relocation support is not offered.

Core Responsibilities

Trade Marketing

  1. Work closely with Western Europe Trade Marketing colleagues to deliver on WE priorities and contribute towards a strong team – working across the region in line with ICP (Integrated commercial plans).
  2. Partner with BU trade marketing teams to understand their business challenges, customer needs and shopper nuances to effectively develop regional campaigns and tools, as well as influence global shopper marketing campaigns and toolboxes.
  3. Lead campaign development and/or asset development for selected franchises and occasions, from briefing to delivery ensuring clear and timely communication with all key partners.
  4. Be responsible for the full Trade Marketing budget, adhering to key deadlines and planning principles.
  5. Work closely and collaboratively with regional commercial development (RCD), eCommerce Center of Excellence (COE) and BU Trade and marketing teams to deploy successful retail activations to drive brand engagement and drive sales both online and instore with our retailers.
  6. Stay updated on market trends, consumer insights, and competitor activities to inform and adapt any future strategies or activities. Proactively look for Retail Marketing innovations in the e-Commerce & Omni-channel spaces & bring case studies to our global Marketing team as well as our internal creative agency (OLA).

Event Management

  1. Own and lead the end to end planning and execution for Nuremberg ToyFair and our Western Europe Marketing and Sales conference.
  2. Identify and evaluate potential risks, problem solve and mitigate risks to minimize impact on deliverables.
  3. Drive post-project delivery review process and detail key findings for future events.
  4. Full budget ownership for events and projects.
  5. Collect input from all collaborators (global, regional and local) to understand needs and incorporate into a common concept.
  6. Ensure timely and clear communication to team members providing updates on delivery, timelines and budgets.
  7. Manage the relationship with the key agencies (internal and external) contracted to deliver projects on time, within budget and meeting our requirements and ensuring high quality.

Do you have what it takes?

  1. Trade Marketing experience in an FMCG company.
  2. Strong project and event management experience.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. A strong collaborator across disciplines and hierarchies to optimally steer a wide range of stakeholders.
  5. Takes initiative and is effective in prioritising within a complex agenda.
  6. Shopper-centric orientation with proven track-record of acting and developing shopper/retail activations for instore and online.
  7. Track record of converting insights to action.
  8. Proficient in English.
