A voluntary legal journalist (Region) role has become available at The Legal Reporter. This part-time role would be ideal for university students, graduates or career-changers looking to obtain experience working in a legal-related domain. The role is perfect for those who enjoy autonomy over their writing as the position would invite you to explore discussion on topics you are particularly interested in, within the given region specified.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal research within a given region to produce short-form articles
  • Synthesise information collated in research to create articles between 300-400 words
  • Proofread, edit and hyperlink sources to written articles
  • Maintain a dated reference list (APA 7) for record purposes

Qualifications:

  • Experience writing articles (university essays, journalism, email correspondence – any experience is welcome!)
  • Both Legal and non-legal backgrounds are invited to apply (non-legal backgrounds will have to demonstrate interest in the legal field, e.g. being part of a law society)
  • Familiarity with Google drive and Slack software
