Goldfield Computing Ltd is currently recruiting for an experienced IT Support Technician / Engineer, with strong all-round support skills who can hit the ground running. We are a small, friendly team of 6 based just outside Leeds, providing straightforward, reliable IT support to local businesses. No corporate nonsense here - no endless call queues, no automated bots, and no waffle. We believe in open communication, honest answers, and building proper long-term relationships with our clients.
You will join us to deliver hands-on technical support, both remotely and onsite, covering everything from day-to-day fixes to installations, monitoring, and maintenance. You will report directly to the Technical Director and play a key role in making sure our clients' IT just works.
Requirements:- At least 1 year’s experience in 1st/2nd line support (some 3rd line exposure is a bonus)
- Strong, practical knowledge of Windows Server (2016–2025 editions)
- Solid admin skills in Microsoft 365, Azure (Entra ID), and Active Directory
- Expert-level understanding of Windows file servers and virtual environments (Hyper-V/VMware experience welcome)
- Confident with DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs
- Good PC/laptop hardware troubleshooting and repair skills
- Experience with backup solutions, antivirus/endpoint protection, off-site backups
- Familiarity with mobile devices (iOS/Android) and smartphone management
- Knowledge of virtualization tools and off-site backup software
- Full, clean UK driving licence (essential for client visits)
- MCP (or higher Microsoft certifications) are a plus, but not required – we actively encourage and support training to gain qualifications if you want to progress.
