We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our East Finchley team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about working with children and eager to begin or grow their career in early years education. About The Role

As a Nursery Assistant, you’ll support the nursery team in providing safe, nurturing, and engaging childcare. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the planning and delivery of activities that promote physical, emotional, and social development
  • Supervising children during play and ensuring their safety at all times
  • Encouraging children’s language development and self-expression
  • Supporting lead practitioners in maintaining a clean, organised, and stimulating classroom environment
  • Building positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Assisting with record-keeping and progress reporting
  • Taking part in training and professional development opportunities

What We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from individuals who are passionate about childcare and willing to learn. Ideally, you will have:

  • Previous experience working with children in a nursery, school, or childcare setting (desirable but not essential)
  • Strong communication skills in English, both spoken and written
  • Creativity and enthusiasm when engaging with children
  • A valid driving licence (preferred, for occasional outings)
  • A positive, caring, and proactive attitude
