At Catcliffe Primary School, we strive to provide the best education for all our pupils in a caring and supportive environment, and we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated and committed Teaching Assistant to join our happy team.

We are looking for a skilled and confident Teaching Assistant who shares the ethos of our school and is committed to supporting our brilliant children and the community we serve.

Previous experience of working in a school, knowledge of SEND and experience of supporting the delivery of phonics would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will:

Support the class teacher in preparation for teaching

Support children's physical, social and emotional welfare

Lead intervention groups

Understanding of First Aid procedures.

Personal Attributes

Ability to motivate pupils, and how to help adapt and deliver support to meet individual needs essential

Ability to manage the behaviour of pupils to promote and maintain order and a calm working environment for pupils essential

Ability to work at own initiative and as part of a team essential

Qualifications

Have Maths and English qualifications equivalent to GCSE A-C or 4-9 essential

Demonstrate the capability to meet the professional standards for teaching assistants essential

Have experience of working with children (either paid or unpaid capacity), preferably in an education setting essential

Have attended CPD and training relevant to the post e.g. Behaviour Management and Child Protection
