- PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Junior Game Developer will work across building and maintaining features for evolving Unity projects across the entire League of Adventure Group.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to take ownership of their work, solve interesting technical challenges, and grow as a software developer in a supportive environment.
This role works within the Creative Studio structure, supporting the delivery of creative projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implementing gameplay and application features in Unity using C# for Web GL platforms.
- Maintaining and improving existing systems and codebases
- Debugging issues and delivering reliable solutions
- Collaborating with our other team members to design and deliver new functionality
- Contributing to technical discussions and architectural decisions
- Learning and working across different areas of the project as requirements evolve
- Contributing to the game design process, including puzzle ideation, playtesting and refinement
- KEY OUTCOMES
- Own delivery of seasonal updates & recurring projects with support from the Game Developer
Participate meaningfully in design and technical discussions, bringing considered input rather than just execution
Maintain build stability across Web GL deployments, catching and flagging regressions before they reach players
Identify and resolve bugs in existing features within agreed timescales, with fixes documented and tested before deployment
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Familiarity with C#
- Familiarity with the Unity Engine
- A passion for game development and creating high-quality products and experiences
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
- Ability to tackle new and unfamiliar challenges head on
- Amazon AWS services, particularly Amplify and S3
- Git Hub and source control workflows
- CI/CD pipelines using Git Hub Actions
