Leader Education are currently recruiting a dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming SEND school based in Hexham, Northumberland. This role involves supporting both Primary and Secondary aged students on an individual basis, helping them access learning, develop confidence, and thrive in a nurturing environment. The role is Monday-Friday 8:45-3:30.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored 1:1 support to students with a range of special educational needs.
- Assist with classroom activities, behaviour regulation, and personalised learning plans.
- Work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to implement EHCP targets.
- Create a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment.
- Encourage independence, emotional wellbeing, and progress for each student.
About You
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a SEND setting.
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting individual needs.
- Ability to build rapport and maintain positive professional relationships.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A valid enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
