We are currently working with a highly regarded financial services organisation that is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its Legal & Compliance team on a 6-month contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer looking to gain broad in-house exposure within a fast-paced and commercially driven environment. The role will work closely with senior legal stakeholders across a range of transactional, banking, and commercial matters, with a particular focus on asset-based lending and invoice finance transactions.

The Role:

  • Supporting banking & finance and transactional matters across the business
  • Reviewing share purchase agreements and asset purchase agreements
  • Advising on security documentation and transaction structures
  • Supporting client onboarding and wider transaction management processes
  • Assisting with property legal charges and finance-related documentation
  • Reviewing and advising on commercial contracts and NDAs
  • Assisting with insolvency, recoveries, and administration-related queries
  • Liaising with external legal advisers and key internal stakeholders

About You:

  • Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 2 years’ PQE
  • Background in banking & finance law
  • Asset-based lending experience would be advantageous
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Ability to work proactively within a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

The role requires one day per week in the office.
