This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Solution Architect to play a key role in shaping the Law Society’s integration landscape. Working within the Architecture practice, you will provide pragmatic, standards-aligned architectural leadership across discovery, design and delivery, helping product and platform teams create secure, resilient and coherent solutions that deliver value at pace. You will work closely with delivery teams, engineers, suppliers and other architects to define solution approaches, guide integration design and ensure architectural decisions are transparent, well-governed and aligned to the Law Society’s target direction.
This role will suit someone who can balance strategic thinking with delivery pragmatism and who is comfortable operating across business, data, application and technology domains. You will also help shape high-level designs, context and integration views, and non-functional requirements, while supporting governance through clear decision-making, risk management and engagement with architecture forums. The post holder will contribute to platform evolution, technical debt reduction and the continuous improvement of ways of working across the organisation.
If you are passionate about modern integration approaches, architectural governance and enabling teams to deliver better outcomes through thoughtful design, this role offers the chance to make a significant impact in a progressive and purpose-led organisation.
What we're looking for:
- Significant experience delivering integrated solutions across complex digital products and platforms, including discovery, option appraisal and high-level design.
- Strong understanding of modern integration approaches, including APIs, asynchronous messaging, events and identity and access patterns.
- Proven ability to define and assure non-functional requirements such as security, resilience, performance, observability and operability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to explain complex concepts clearly and present proposals through governance forums.
You will bring broad architecture experience across cloud platforms, software engineering and integration patterns, together with a practical understanding of how to apply architectural frameworks and standards in a product or output-led environment. You should be comfortable working with multidisciplinary teams, coaching others in good architectural practice and assuring designs so they are secure by design, scalable, accessible and supportable in live service.
Most importantly, you will be a collaborative and constructive colleague who can balance governance with pragmatism, build trusted relationships across technical and non-technical stakeholders, and contribute positively to an inclusive and respectful working environment.
