Join the Library team in this new role, delivering heritage-focused collections work and a high quality legal enquiry service for our 200,000 members. A defining focus of the role is our art and heritage collections, reflecting over 200 years of legal history. Working closely with our Project Archivist, you will support the review and documentation of these collections, to help build a more accessible and well managed record for the future, and promoting pride in the profession.

Alongside this, the successful candidate will handle a range of research requests including on case law, legislation, precedents and commentary, providing excellent research services that support our members’ legal practice and professional excellence. The Law Society is the membership body for the legal profession and our members are at the heart of what we do.

What we're looking for:

  • You will have strong analytical and evaluative skills to assess heritage and archives material, catalogue accurately, and support informed decisions about the collections.
  • Organised and proactive, the successful candidate will be able to prioritise effectively.
  • You will have current experience of legal information enquiry work and legal research using hardcopy and online databases.
  • With excellent communication skills and customer service experience, you will confidently work with our members and colleagues to deliver our fantastic professional enquiry service to the large membership of solicitors across England and Wales.
