The Law Society is seeking a high‑calibre Governance Secretary to play a central role in shaping and maintaining modern, efficient and transparent governance across the organisation. Reporting to the Head of Governance, you will manage the scheduling, coordination and delivery of Board, Committee and wider governance body meetings, while promoting best practice, maintaining compliance standards, and ensuring confidence in governance processes across the organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and technically adept governance specialist to work with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders who expect the highest standards of governance support. You will be joining a newly formed team as we modernise processes and build a future‑fit governance function.

We are looking for someone with significant experience working as a governance professional or Board/Committee Secretary, with a strong understanding of committee structures and organisational governance. You will have excellent stakeholder‑management skills, outstanding drafting ability, and strong IT proficiency, including experience with financial processing systems.

In addition, you will have exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage changing priorities and contribute meaningfully to improving systems and processes.
