The Property Recoveries team in Belfast is part of CSG. Our specialist team provides expert and practical advice over a range of areas:
- Subrogated property
- Uninsured Loss Recoveries
- Recovery of overpayments and duplicate payments
- Property damage defence claims
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic paralegal who is eager to develop an exciting career within a supportive team and ambitious firm.
What you will do
- Manage a varied caseload of pre‑litigated or litigated work.
- Screen matters for prospects and liaise with clients upon receipt of instructions.
- Review instructions and provide client advice on case prospects.
- Resolve claims through negotiation and litigation within client service standards.
- Instruct experts and counsel, draft Witness Statements and other court documents.
- Maintain contact with clients and their customers while proactively managing expectations.
- Meet individual performance measures (financial performance, realisation rates and other KPIs).
- Ensure that the DAC Beachcroft brand and standards are maintained.
Who You Are
Graduates or those with customer‑service/retail experience who are team players and passionate about learning are encouraged to apply. We also welcome experienced paralegals who have worked in a legal environment.
Typical Duties
- Run a full caseload of pre‑litigated and litigated files to meet deadlines and manage cases to conclusion.
- Handle cases in Small Claims Court and County Court.
- Adhere to internal and client SLAs, KPIs and protocols.
- Achieve agreed chargeable time and financial targets.
- Promptly bill and collect WIP and disbursements.
- Provide accurate management information.
- Ensure trust balances are cleared promptly.
- Develop and adhere to clear case strategies that balance commercial interests of both the firm and client.
- Apply appropriate technical expertise and case law.
- Work toward settlement and complete archiving procedures efficiently.
- Manage risk and compliance issues, escalating any emerging problems to line manager.
- Engage with clients to build rapport and act as an ambassador of the firm.
- Contribute to business development and client relationship activities as required.
