Role Overview
Responsible for informing and executing our UK entity management company secretarial services within the Corporate Secretarial Services (CSS) Business, the role holder is a proven leader with an established network within governance or professional services. This is a client‑facing role that combines technical execution, team development and business growth. A member of the senior leadership team, you will be required to inform the development and implementation plans of the wider CSS Business strategy and drive our product and market development activities.
Job Role & Responsibilities
- Responsible for the delivery of entity management company secretarial services to our UK entity client base, including a broad spectrum of governance services.
- Providing strategic oversight and leadership on high‑profile clients, bringing gravitas and experience to interactions with those clients.
- Establish and maintain relationships with intermediaries, introducers, and third‑party service providers with a view to generating leads and enhancing the business’ offering and reputation as the primary company secretarial service provider in the UK.
- Identifying, nurturing and converting new business opportunities in line with the agreed business development strategy and forming sustainable commercial agreements that enable us to meet our new business targets.
- Collectively responsible for identifying potential new products, services, sectors, partnerships, and acquisitions to support the continued growth of the CSS business.
- Working with our clients and our IT team to iterate our technology strategy as Artificial Intelligence continues to develop at a rapid pace.
People Management Responsibilities
- Leadership responsibilities for a team of 20‑25 colleagues within the CSS UK entity management business – providing leadership direction, guidance on management of business practices, performance management, and professional development support.
- Developing and growing the team and providing them with stretching opportunities.
- Attracting and retaining the best talent in the industry as we continue to grow our service offering and client portfolios.
- Maintaining robust succession plans for key team roles and encouraging professional development of colleagues to prioritise fulfilling progression internally.
Departmental Leadership
- Responsible for setting and meeting departmental and client‑related budgets and client profit and loss metrics, monitoring the profitability and quality of workflows undertaken by the UK Entity Management Business.
- Planning for and allocation of resource across clients within the UK entity management business and ensuring best‑in‑class client service is delivered.
- Raising the profile of the CSS Business and our service offering through internal and external events and initiatives, including panel participation, making presentations, networking, etc.
- Building strong inter‑departmental working relationships with key stakeholders across other Law Debenture business units and leveraging these relationships to inform our roadmap whilst maximising opportunities for business growth.
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- ICSA Qualified (or other professional qualification if relevant experience can be demonstrated) with strong demonstrable experience in UK Entity Commercial awareness and a track record of contributing to the commercial success of professional services businesses.
- Understanding of the professional services model and experience of adapting/refining business models to adapt to growth and market.
- Strong presentational and communication skills.
- Proven business development experience.
- Desire to work within a dynamic and fast past environment.
- Proven leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and discipline themselves and others.
- Proven people leadership skills.
- Ability to relate to individuals at all levels and a willingness to take a hands‑on role when necessary.
- The ability to make a strategic contribution and to bring challenge to the senior leadership team.
- Experience of advising listed companies and private groups looking to list.
