Principal Duties

  • Outsourced Pensions Executive Services And Projects
  • Business planning/organisation – liaising with chair/trustees/in-house pensions leads and other stakeholders.
  • Promoting positive relationships with/ sourcing input from advisers and service providers on behalf of trustee boards and corporates.
  • Pro-active support for scheme secretarial duties including: Planning/organisation/relationship management for chair/trustees/advisers/in-house.
  • Meetings – ensuring effective implementation of trustee meeting arrangements, scheduling and governance activity, as appropriate, and providing support in the meeting preparation/attendance/minutes/follow-up actions.
  • Initial drafting of member communications – e.g. trustee newsletters/Summary Funding Statements/member websites.
  • Ongoing governance – supporting with budget/cost control, ensuring maintenance of Trustee documentation such as: business plans/risk registers, regulatory deadlines, annual returns etc.
  • Management of routine scheme projects e.g. annual report and accounts.
  • Assisting with governance projects e.g. member nominated trustee selections, trustee effectiveness, service provider reviews and procurement projects.
  • Supporting Trustee Directors and Pegasus Executives on LawDeb corporate sole trustee schemes/non-registered pension schemes in line with established frameworks.
  • Strategic change projects – assistance as required (e.g. project management support for implementing investment strategy, scheme de-risking and wind-up projects).

Business development and client care

  • Establishing and maintaining external relationships to support business growth and becoming a trusted contact.
  • Support with managing client/commercial relationships (e.g. invoicing, input into RFP responses and client agreements).
  • In collaboration with Pegasus colleagues, contributing to the development of new and existing service lines for Pegasus including proposals and marketing initiatives.
  • Become a first point of contact for day to day client activities e.g. adviser queries.

Team and work management

  • Participating in induction and training activities.
  • Establishing and documenting work protocols; maintaining work-management tools etc.
  • Training, development and peer review of Pensions Executive Administrator role outputs.

General duties

  • Contribute to the development and growth of this growing LawDeb business and ensure processes are efficient and effective, including thorough record-keeping and provision for client access.
  • Undertake training and development as appropriate and engage fully in the performance management process.
  • Contribute to the LawDeb culture positively, attend meetings as required, and carry out duties willingly and diligently.
  • Where regulatory rules apply, abide by these in spirit and fact.
  • Support and guide (where appropriate) Pegasus colleagues to ensure deliverables are completed within agreed timelines and to a high quality.
  • Carry out such other tasks as you may be reasonably directed to do by your line manager and the senior management team from time to time.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, Experience

  • Strong experience of occupational pension schemes/knowledge of pensions market (gained from a minimum 2 - 5 years of working in pensions arena).
  • Awareness of technical pensions matters and proactively maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry developments.
  • Competent user of MS office systems (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience of liaison with third party suppliers, advisers, industry regulators and appropriate relationship management.
  • Strong communication, numeracy and data manipulation skills (incl. grammar and adapting communication style to suit audience).

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Experience

  • Part-qualified APMI, actuarial or equivalent professional qualification.
