How to prepare for a job interview at The Laurus Trust

Know Your Stuff

Familiarise yourself with the specific needs of the children you'll be working with, and think about how you can support their learning and development. This will show that you're genuinely interested in the role and ready to make a difference.

Prepare for the Observation

Since there's a short observation where you'll lead a small-group activity, plan an engaging and fun activity that focuses on developing fine motor skills. Show Your Passion

During the interview, let your enthusiasm for working with children shine through. Share personal experiences or stories that highlight your commitment to supporting young learners. This will help the interviewers see that you’re not just looking for a job, but that you truly care about making a positive impact on children's lives.

Ask Thoughtful Questions

Prepare some questions to ask at the end of the interview. Inquire about the school's approach to SEND, the professional development opportunities available, or how they foster a supportive environment for both staff and pupils. This shows that you're engaged and serious about being part of their team.
