About the job
The ideal candidate will have experience in EV Charging and Grid Connections managing customers and leading a portfolio of projects, ensuring successful delivery on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This candidate will be responsible for strategic alignment, team leadership, risk management, and stakeholder engagement, often acting as a mentor to Project Managers.
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of multiple projects from inception to completion
- Manage the projects in accordance with the framework / contract agreement.
- Defining project scope, developing comprehensive proposals, and managing project lifecycles from site surveys to commissioning and handover.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of electric vehicle charging infrastructure and grid connection projects.
- Liaising with internal teams (engineering, construction, etc.), external partners (DNOs, IDNOs, contractors), and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
- Leading and motivating teams, facilitating collaboration, and removing roadblocks to ensure smooth project execution.
- Communicating effectively with stakeholders, managing expectations, and providing regular updates on project progress to enhance the company’s reputation at project level.
- Identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies to minimise their impact on project delivery.
- Identifying opportunities to improve delivery processes and workflows, leading to increased efficiency and effectiveness.
- Allocating and managing resources effectively to optimise project delivery.Ensure the appropriate application of the Company Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Assurance system and policies
- Maintain and develop competence level and technical skills to ensure delivery to high standards.
- Maintain reporting aligned to the project KPIs with key focus on Safety, Commercial and Financial performance.
- Assisting with customer and subcontractor contract management.
- Assist in cost control initiatives within the department
Qualifications
- Bachelor\’s degree (Electrical)
- Familiarity with the procedures for connecting EV charging infrastructure to the electricity distribution network.
- Experience of working and interfacing with the DNO’s on projects
- Understanding different types of EV chargers (AC, DC, etc.) and their applications.
- HV / LV installations.
- 5+ years of experience in project management or relevant fields
- Strong understanding of budget and cashflow management.
- Excellent IT skills (MS office)
- Established Leadership and Stakeholder management skills
