About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Recruitment Consultant to join our growing Power & Infrastructure division, with a dedicated focus on the Transmission & Distribution (T&D) sector. You will take ownership of a warm desk with existing clients and active jobs, while also driving new business development across substation builds, overhead lines, cabling, and grid upgrades for key clients in the energy and utilities space. This role is ideal for a recruiter with a proven track record in the construction or utilities markets, who is passionate about building long-term relationships and delivering high-quality manpower solutions to major contractors and infrastructure providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for contract and permanent roles across the T&D sector, including but not limited to: Project Managers, Site Managers, SAPs, Electrical Engineers, Cable Jointers, Civils Supervisors, HSE Advisors, and Labourers
- Grow and maintain a network of skilled candidates within Transmission & Distribution
- Develop strong relationships with key clients including Tier 1 utilities contractors, DNOs, and renewable energy firms
- Win new business and secure PSLs through outbound sales activity, client meetings, and industry networking
- Attend site visits, industry events, and client meetings to build rapport and market intelligence
- Collaborate with the compliance and resourcing teams to ensure fully compliant placements
- Consistently hit and exceed personal and team KPIs including revenue, margin, and activity targets
- Provide mentoring to junior consultants or resourcers if required
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 3 years of 360 recruitment experience, ideally within construction, energy, or engineering
- Demonstrable success in contract or permanent billing – ideally £150k+ annually
- Understanding of the T&D market, or adjacent infrastructure sectors (utilities, civils, power)
- Proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships in a competitive sector
- Strong candidate sourcing and interviewing skills, using job boards, LinkedIn, and own network
- Self-motivated, resilient, and target-driven mindset
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience placing roles on National Grid, UKPN, SSE, SPEN or similar DNO/ICP frameworks
- Knowledge of compliance and safety regulations in high-voltage environments
- Existing client or candidate network in the T&D sector
