Our client, a well-established and highly respected engineering and construction partnership, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their growing team. Operating across the water, energy, and environmental sectors, they deliver fully integrated design and build solutions on complex infrastructure projects across the UK. They have recently secured a significant long-term framework with a major UK utility provider, forming part of a multi-billion-pound investment programme over the next five years. This work will focus on upgrading wastewater treatment facilities and delivering large-scale environmental improvements, including a major storm overflow reduction initiative aimed at protecting extensive river networks and coastal waters.
The Role
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering projects that have a tangible impact on both the environment and local communities. Working primarily within the water sector, you will be involved across the full project lifecycle — from initial design through to construction and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and review electrical designs for water and wastewater treatment plants
- Work with key systems including MCCs, LV distribution, cabling, instrumentation, PLCs, SCADA, and industrial networks
- Prepare technical specifications and support procurement activities, including reviewing supplier submissions
- Mentor and support junior engineers and graduates within the team
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and client-specific requirements
- Build strong relationships with clients and contribute to successful project delivery
About You
- Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Chartered/Incorporated status (or working towards) with a recognised professional body, or equivalent experience
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required
