We are seeking talented Architectural Engineers to join our growing data centre and critical infrastructure team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the architectural design, coordination and delivery of complex data centre projects from concept and detailed design through to construction. This is an excellent opportunity to work on technically demanding, high-value projects within the rapidly expanding European data centre sector, collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams, contractors, consultants and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop architectural designs for data centre buildings and associated infrastructure.
  • Produce and review architectural drawings, specifications, schedules and technical documentation.
  • Contribute to concept, schematic, detailed and construction-stage design activities.
  • Coordinate architectural solutions with structural, civil, MEP and specialist engineering disciplines.
  • Develop architectural layouts, details, elevations, sections and construction information.
  • Work closely with contractors, specialist subcontractors, suppliers and site teams to resolve technical and construction issues.
  • Review architectural designs, drawings, material submissions and technical documentation from third parties.
  • Support technical meetings with clients, contractors and project stakeholders.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable building regulations, standards and project-specific requirements.
  • Consider constructability, programme, cost and quality throughout the design process.
  • Coordinate architectural interfaces with critical MEP, structural, security, fire protection and specialist systems.
  • Undertake site inspections and provide technical support during construction where required.
  • Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments and value-engineering exercises.
  • Maintain high standards of technical quality, health and safety and architectural best practice.

Requirements

  • Ideally a degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Building Engineering or a related discipline - dependant on experience.
  • 3+ years professional experience in architectural design and delivery within building, industrial, infrastructure or data centre projects.
  • Experience working on large-scale or technically complex building projects.
  • Strong understanding of architectural design principles, building construction and technical detailing.
  • Experience producing architectural drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Experience with architectural CAD/BIM platforms, ideally Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Good understanding of construction methods and practical buildability considerations.
  • Ability to manage priorities and deliver work to demanding project programmes.
  • Experience coordinating architectural requirements with structural, MEP and specialist systems would be advantageous.
  • Previous data centre or other mission-critical project experience would be advantageous.

This role typically operates on a rotational basis for non-local candidates - and successful applicants will have their travel costs covered and be provided with a single-occupancy apartment with all utilities included during their time away.
