Essential

  • Appropriate level of Literacy & Numeracyskills, equivalent to level 2 or above
  • Knowledge and experience of the requirements ofsafeguarding within schools, including Child Protection
  • Motivation to work with children and youngpeople
  • Commitment to, and belief in, the equal value ofall students
  • Ability to form and maintain appropriaterelationships and personal boundaries with children and young people
  • Proven work experience in administration
  • Strong basic ICT skills, especially in the useof Word and Excel
  • Appropriate level of data protection, securityand confidentiality awareness
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Be reliable and consistent
  • Efficient and organised: independent andeffective in time management
  • Willing to be flexible and adaptable

Desirable

  • Appropriate qualifications (LSA HLTA) orexperience of supporting students in school
  • Knowledge of database management
  • Prior relevant experience of working in a school
  • Knowledge and understanding of the SEN Code ofPractice
  • Experience of using Compass (School’sInformation Management System)
  • Knowledge of external children and young peoplesupport services
  • First aid training
