Pay: £28,724.80 per year + the monthly on-call payment

Weekly hours: 40 hours a week - Permanent Position

Timetable: Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; shared on-call duties

About the role

We are seeking to appoint a Maintenance Assistant, to carry out maintenance work and repair needs of the community. We are looking for a proactive individual who can work independently as directed by the Estate Manager. We are looking for a local person as the job involves a shared out of hours on call rota which is typically 1 in every 3 weeks. The Maintenance Assistant will report to the Estates and Maintenance Manager to help provide a safe, secure workplace.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Good painting and decorating skills
  • Basic Carpentry Skills
  • Ability to change locks
  • Basic Plumbing skills
  • Basic electrical skills (competent in changing sockets, etc.)
  • Removing items and rubbish
  • Identify, document, and report maintenance and repair work
  • Suggest additional repairs when identified and needed
  • Prior experience in the maintenance sector is key to being a successful candidate
  • Honesty and integrity are core elements to our ethos
  • Building flat‑packed furniture
  • After training understanding of the fire control panels
  • With training, understanding of Water management
  • Carry out essential planned maintenance on ventilation, door and window furniture
  • Reliable, punctual, self‑motivated
  • Driving Licence
  • Maintenance: 3 years (preferred)
