We’re working with a fast growing eCommerce marketplace business that is expanding its international presence and looking for a German speaking Marketplace Sales Manager to help drive growth across the German speaking markets of Europe. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded sales professional with marketplace experience who enjoys building merchant relationships, winning new business and developing strategic partnerships.
As the group German speaking Marketplace Sales Manager you will take ownership of the German merchant acquisition strategy, from identifying and qualifying prospects through to onboarding and developing long term commercial relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end sales cycle for German merchants, from prospecting through to onboarding and contract completion
- Develop and execute a targeted merchant recruitment strategy for the German market
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of German speaking prospects
- Generate new business through both inbound and outbound channels
- Qualify, nurture and convert cold and warm prospects
- Consistently achieve and exceed outreach, pipeline and contract targets
- Identify new opportunities to accelerate marketplace growth across Germany
- Build strong relationships with merchants, agencies, aggregators and other strategic partners
- Work closely with internal commercial, product and operational teams to ensure a smooth merchant onboarding experience
- Present recruitment strategies and recommendations to senior stakeholders and secure relevant approvals.
Candidate Skills and Profile:
- Fluent German and English language skills are essential
- Proven experience in marketplace sales, business development, merchant acquisition or a similar commercial role
- An expert knowledge of the eCommerce marketplace in Germany
- A strong track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets
- Excellent prospecting and relationship-building skills
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of the marketplace/e-commerce landscape
- Experience managing a sales pipeline and full sales cycle
- Confident working with agencies, aggregators, merchants and other external partners
- Highly motivated, target-driven and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
