Business Development Director – Translation & Language Services (Life Sciences)
Location: 100% Remote (with international travel)
Salary: £45,000–£50,000 base + competitive commission

Our client is a leading Language Services Provider (LSP), delivering specialist translation and localization solutions to global leaders in life sciences, clinical trials, medical, and pharmaceutical technology. With a strong foothold across Europe, North America, and APAC, they are trusted by some of the industry’s most recognized names.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an ambitious Business Development Director to join their international sales team. This is a high-impact role, responsible for developing new business opportunities, building senior client relationships, and driving revenue growth across the company’s key markets.
This is a remote position with regular international travel, ideal for a self-driven professional who thrives in a global, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage sales activity through CRM, maintaining accurate sales metrics and pipeline updates
- Prospect and generate new leads via LinkedIn, ZoomInfo, networking, and industry events (no cold calling)
- Build and nurture strong client relationships throughout the full sales cycle
- Act as the primary contact for C-Suite stakeholders, collaborating with project management teams to ensure client success
- Prepare and contribute to RFPs/RFIs for new business opportunities
- Represent the company at international trade shows, conferences, and networking events
- Monitor sales KPIs and performance data, continuously driving growth initiatives
- Lead strategic conversations with executives to uncover business needs and propose tailored solutions
About You
- Fluent English (essential); knowledge of another language is an advantage
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent professional experience)
- Proven track record in B2B sales – experience in translation/localization or life sciences is highly advantageous
- Exceptional presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills
- Skilled at developing and leveraging professional networks to create business opportunities
- Self-motivated, with strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to lead, inspire, and collaborate effectively across teams
