Quality Engineer
Location: Slough, Greater Manchester, GB, M24 5
Salary: Β£42,000-Β£50,000 plus other benefits
Job Description
My client is looking for a Quality Engineer to join their business on a permanent basis in the Slough area. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding and passion for Lean Manufacturing and will be mainly responsible for improving the quality of the company's operational processes and output.
Attributes of the Quality Engineer
- Degree qualified or experience working in a similar role
- 2 years experience in Manufacturing Environment
- Self-motivated individual
- Right first time approach
- Ability to work calmly under pressure
Role Responsibilities
- Drive standardisation on processes along with waste elimination and continuous improvement
- Support 8D activities on parts connected to internal or supplier quality concerns
- Work on NPI products and supplier quality development, implementing new processes
- Develop and maintain quality assurance throughout product development cycle for NPI
- Responsible for control plans and QA associated with manufacturing processes which are outsourced
- Collate material compliance data, report writing where necessary
- Resolve customer issues in a timely manner
- Champion problem solving with use of RCA tools such as 8D, 5WHY, ISHIKAWA, FMEA's
- Handle internal & external audits
- Monitor supplier performance, define process parameters to ensure process capability
- Monitor output, quality & scrap rates. Improve OTD performance
- Maintain records of products and approved suppliers
- Identify, lead and participate in improvement projects - member of the CI team
