The Langham, London is currently recruiting for a Canteen Assistant to work in The Yard, our colleague restaurant. The Canteen Assistant is responsible for supporting an effective canteen service to all of the colleagues at The Langham London; ensuring daily meals are provided in a safe and clean environment, working under the direction of the Executive Sous Chef.
As Canteen Assistant, your main role will be to:
- provide a clean and well-maintained canteen for colleagues
- deliver great and friendly service in a busy environment
- ensure the availability of food and drinks during opening times of The Yard
- work closely with the Staff Chefs and Back of House colleagues to maintain continuous supply of food, drinks, crockery during service
- ensure all food is stored and handled correctly and meets the requirements of good food hygiene practice
- work with Human Resources on projects eg themed meals, Christmas lunch
- provide feedback to the Executive Sous Chef
- work independently and resourcefully
The ideal Canteen Assistant will have:
- experience in a customer service environment, is engaging and adaptable
- good interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to work independently and resourcefully
- good organisation skills and is able to prioritise
- good assertive skills in a professional way
- availability to work 47.5/week, Monday - Friday
- food safety training (desirable)
