Job Title: Safeguarding & Attendance Manager

Start Date: 1st June 2026

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 37 hours - Term time only + 2 weeks

Salary Range: NJC 23-28

We are looking to recruit a Safeguarding & Attendance Manager from the 1st June 2026. The successful candidate will have experience of working in a safeguarding role and/or an attendance role. They will also have a sound understanding of statutory policies regarding the safeguarding of children and young people. This is a superb opportunity to develop and progress professionally, and to impact upon children's learning and life chances.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is tenacious and is able to assimilate information quickly
  • has good communication skills;
  • is highly organised and is motivated and committed to the success of the Academy
  • has a sound understanding of statutory policies relating to safeguarding
  • has the knowledge and skills to work collaboratively with external agencies
  • can build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents;
  • can work with families to improve pupil outcomes;
  • has a commitment to developing their own knowledge and skills of safeguarding and attendance and child protection
  • can work well under pressure
  • has a good sense of humour
  • is a team player
  • has a clean FULL UK driving Licence
  • is self‑driven and able to work under their own initiative

Actual Pro‑rata salary for TTO + 2 weeks

Qualifications

5 GCSEs including Maths and English (grade 4-9) or equivalent essential

Relevant safeguarding qualification and/or training essential

Safeguarding/Prevent qualification or willing to work towards desirable

Current First Aid qualification (or willing to work towards) desirable

Educated to a minimum of level 3 desirable

Skills

Abilities, Skills and Knowledge

High level of oral and written communication skills essential

Able to use all MS Office programs particularly Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and be familiar with other bespoke databases essential

Able to work to tight deadlines, managing and prioritising time effectively essential

Experience

Previous experience in a similar role essential

Experience of working in a school or academy trust environment essential

Have an openness to learning and change essential

Be able to work in ways that promote equality of opportunity, participation, diversity and responsibility essential
