We are seeking an experienced Technical Bid Writer / Proposal Writer to support the preparation of high-quality, compliant tender submissions across a diverse range of construction projects throughout the UK.
The Role:
As a Technical Bid Writer / Proposal Writer, you will work closely with operational, commercial and technical teams to develop compelling submissions for PQQs, ITTs and tender opportunities across sectors including education, residential, commercial, government and technically complex environments. You will play a key role in producing clear, structured and persuasive responses that reflect technical capability, delivery excellence and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation and writing of PQQs, ITTs and tender submissions
- Analyse client requirements, scoring criteria and procurement documentation
- Develop compliant, concise and client-focused responses aligned to win themes
- Coordinate with Directors, Project Teams and technical specialists to gather accurate information
- Challenge and refine SME content to strengthen clarity and competitiveness
- Manage bid programmes and submission deadlines
- Prepare submissions for public sector frameworks, Local Authority, education and government projects, alongside private residential and commercial tenders
- Support the development and maintenance of bid libraries, case studies and standard responses
- Participate in bid reviews, workshops and quality assurance processes
- Support the continuous improvement of bid processes and documentation
What We’re Looking For:
Experience:
- Experience within a construction bid writing or proposal writing role
- Exposure to public sector procurement and framework submissions
- Experience supporting private sector residential and commercial tenders
Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of UK procurement and tender processes
- Ability to interpret technical information and produce persuasive written responses
- Knowledge of compliance-led and quality-weighted submissions
- Strong editing, proofreading and document management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word
- Experience with Adobe InDesign and collaborative platforms such as SharePoint or MS Teams is advantageous
