The Lanes Group are currently recruiting for an experienced Stock Manager to join a leading logistics operation based in Coventry. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised inventory professional with strong people management skills and a proven background in stock control, warehouse operations, and logistics. You will play a key role in ensuring stock accuracy, driving operational efficiency, maintaining compliance standards, and leading a dedicated inventory team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate daily inventory activities alongside warehouse operations.
- Lead and develop the stock team, ensuring all performance targets and KPIs are achieved.
- Oversee cycle counts, stock investigations, inventory reporting, and discrepancy resolution.
- Complete Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and 8D investigations, implementing corrective and preventative actions.
- Monitor stock accuracy and maintain inventory integrity across the operation.
- Ensure compliance with all inventory blueprints, SOPs, and company procedures.
- Manage labour allocation and workforce planning to meet operational requirements.
- Conduct interviews, onboarding, training, performance reviews, and 1-2-1 meetings.
- Produce daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports for senior management.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to improve processes.
- Support ISO, HMRC, SOX, HSE, and operational compliance requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and customers.
- Promote a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience within a Stock Manager, Inventory Manager, or Warehouse Inventory Management role.
- Strong logistics, warehouse, or supply chain experience.
- Experience managing teams, performance, and operational deadlines.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Experience producing inventory and operational reports.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- SAP experience preferred.
- Customer-facing experience desirable.
- Understanding of SOX compliance would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
