We are seeking an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join a growing commercial team delivering high-profile construction projects across the UK.
The Role:
As a Project Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the financial, commercial, and contractual aspects of projects from post-tender handover through to final account close-out. Working closely with Project Managers, Design Managers, subcontractors, and the wider commercial team, you will play a key role in ensuring cost control, contractual compliance, and commercial success across major residential, commercial, education, and mixed-use developments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead subcontract procurement from tender package preparation through to contract execution
- Manage project costs in line with budgets and commercial targets
- Prepare and maintain cashflows, cost value reconciliations, procurement trackers, and change order registers
- Prepare, negotiate, and agree interim valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Collaborate with project teams and consultants to ensure tender information is accurate and value-engineered where possible
- Carry out site measurements from drawings and on-site inspections
- Attend project meetings and provide commercial reporting and updates
- Support and mentor assistant and graduate quantity surveyors where required
- Maintain strong commercial and contractual management throughout the project lifecycle
What We’re Looking For:
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working with a main contractor
- Must have public sector framework experience
- Experience delivering Design & Build projects is advantageous
- Previous experience on residential, commercial, education, or mixed-use developments
Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of UK construction contracts, particularly JCT Design & Build
- Knowledge of commercial risk management and cost control procedures
- Familiarity with BCIS and elemental cost benchmarking
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and understand construction methodologies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
Qualifications:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, ideally RICS-accredited
- Working towards MRICS chartership preferred
- Valid CSCS card advantageous

- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- High attention to detail
- Collaborative approach with the ability to work within multidisciplinary teams
