Principal Ecologist/Associate Director (London/Bedford/Woodbridge) – Full-time/Part-time Join us at The Landscape Partnership as a Principal Ecologist/Associate Director in either London, Bedford, or Woodbridge. We are seeking an ambitious, experienced professional to lead and develop our ecology team across a variety of projects. Role Overview The position may range from Principal Ecologist to Associate Director and is ideally based in London to expand our ecology team there, with the possibility of working from Bedford or Woodbridge offices and occasional travel to London. Key Responsibilities Mentoring and leading ecological teams on projects including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Ecological Impact Assessments, protected species surveys, bat mitigation licensing, and Biodiversity Net Gain calculations. Managing projects across diverse sectors such as residential, education, renewable energy, commercial, and agriculture throughout the UK, primarily Midlands and South-East. Promoting environmentally sustainable practices within project delivery. Candidate Requirements Relevant degree and Full Member of CIEEM Understanding of planning systems and ability to manage deadlines efficiently Strong organizational, management, and communication skills, with experience in technical report writing and presenting findings Licences for survey and mitigation work, preferably including bats FISC level 3 minimum Valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle Right to work in the UK Desirable Skills Experience with Public Inquiries or Examinations in Public Business development experience What We Offer A collaborative environment with benefits such as pension scheme, Cyclescheme, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, professional membership coverage, and CPD opportunities.
