We are currently looking for a passionate Commis 1, to join our Kitchen Department on a permanent basis, with an immediate start to consistently deliver memorable moments and five star service to our guests and each other. It is important to us that everyone in the team brings positive energy to support our happy and fun environment, as we strive to build a community of diverse backgrounds and life experiences, where we care about careers and not just jobs.

As a Commis 1, your main duties and expectations for the role will include:

  • To work as an individual and as part of a team by assisting in the preparation of mise-en-place and service for the section / department.
  • To take ownership and check mise en place levels and quality for the section. Complete a mise en place list in order of priority and liaise with your supervisor prior to commencing the tasks.
  • To cook and present food to the correct standard as outlined in the outlet specification manual and as per standards recommended by Leading Hotels of The World.
  • To take ownership on correct portion control and that wastage is kept to a minimum and to ensure that correct stock rotation is evident within the section.
  • To provide a quick and efficient service at all times.
  • To pro-actively attend the morning meeting in Executive chef’s office and communicate key information at the daily section briefing.
  • To take ownership for kitchen cleanliness at all times. To take care of your uniform, your personal appearance and hygiene in accordance with hotel policy and procedure.

You will be required to work such hours as are necessary to fulfil your duties and in any event not less than hours.
