Role Description

The Events Bar Manager is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Barking, responsible for overseeing bar operations during events, functions, and private gatherings.

Day‑to‑day tasks include planning bar service for events, managing stock and inventory, and ensuring all beverages are prepared and served to brand and hygiene standards.

The role involves leading and scheduling bar team members, providing hands‑on training, and maintaining a high level of motivation and performance.

The Events Bar Manager collaborates with events and sales teams to align bar offerings with client requirements, supports upselling opportunities, and ensures exceptional guest service at all times.

Administrative duties include monitoring costs, reporting on sales, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations.

Qualifications

  • Strong Customer Service skills, with a focus on delivering a luxury guest experience and resolving issues promptly and professionally.
  • Practical experience in Food & Beverage operations, including bar service, product knowledge, stock control, and adherence to hygiene standards.
  • Excellent Communication skills for coordinating with events, sales, and kitchen teams, and for giving clear direction to bar staff.
  • Training experience, with the ability to coach and develop bar team members in service standards, product knowledge, and compliance.
  • Sales capabilities, including upselling beverages, promoting event packages, and contributing to revenue targets.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within hotel, bar, or events environments.
  • Knowledge of licensing laws, health and safety, and food safety regulations.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and peak event periods.
  • Relevant hospitality or bar management certifications are an advantage.
