Dr Laliwala and Partners are looking to recruit a Salaried GP to join our friendly and supportive team at Nightingale Medical Centre, Peterborough, on a permanent basis. Nightingale Medical Centre is also a training practice, currently supporting a GP trainee, and we are committed to providing a positive environment for learning and professional development.
Our GPs are supported by a range of clinical and administrative professionals. What we offer -

We are looking for a GP who is committed to providing high-quality patient care and who would enjoy working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centred primary care as part of our supportive multidisciplinary team.
The role will include managing a varied clinical caseload through face-to-face and telephone consultations, triage, assessing and managing both acute and long-term conditions, prescribing, making referrals and supporting continuity of care.
The Salaried GP will work closely with our GP Partners and wider clinical team and will contribute to clinical governance, practice meetings, quality improvement and the ongoing development of services within the practice.

Our multidisciplinary team includes GP Partners, ANPs/ACPs, a Physician Associate, Clinical Pharmacists, Practice Nurses, HCAs, GP Assistants, prescribing clerks and an experienced administration, secretarial and reception team. We also work closely with additional services available through the Greater Peterborough Network.
Nightingale Medical Centre is a training practice and currently hosts a GP trainee. We encourage continued learning and professional development and hold regular clinical governance meetings to support shared learning and high standards of patient care.

Job responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the salaried GP. There may be on occasion,a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
- a. The delivery of highly effective medical care to the practice population
- b. The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract
- c. Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
- d. Effective management of long-term conditions
- e. Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat and acute prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks
- f. On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles
- g. Carry out home visits where necessary
- h. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance
- i. Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
- j. Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
- k. Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice
- l. Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOF
- m. Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required
- n. Contribute effective to the development and maintenance of the practice including; clinical governance, training, financial management and HR
- o. Ensure compliance with the appraisal process
- p. Prepare and complete the revalidation process
- q. Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team
- r. Support other members of the clinical team, such as Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses and Health Care Assistants, dealing with queries as they arise
- s. Support the training of medical students from all clinical disciplines
- t. Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure
- u. Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies at all times
- v. Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a culture of continuous improvement at all times
