To provide high-quality, patient‑centred nursing care within a GP practice setting, supporting the delivery of general medical services, chronic disease management, health promotion, and preventative care in line with national and local guidelines.
Main duties of the job:
- Deliver excellent patient care and be confident in chronic disease management as well as undertaking a range of general practice nursing duties such as immunisations and vaccinations, cervical cytology, wound care and contraception.
Duties:
- Undertake patient assessments, consultations, and treatment within scope of practice.
- Provide chronic disease management clinics (e.g. asthma, COPD, diabetes, hypertension).
- Carry out cervical screening in line with the NHS Cervical Screening Programme.
- Administer vaccinations and immunisations, including childhood and travel vaccines.
- Perform wound care, dressings, suture removal, and ear irrigation.
- Conduct NHS Health Checks and health promotion activities.
- Carry out phlebotomy and ECGs (where trained).
- Manage infection prevention and control procedures.
- Provide health education, advice, and support to patients and carers.
- Promote self‑care and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient records.

- Strong IT skills and experience using clinical systems (e.g. EMIS, SystmOne).
- Experience in travel health services.
- Teaching or mentoring experience.
