Are you a sensitive, committed and dedicated teacher? Do you have a passion for supporting students with special educational needs (SEN)? Could you fit in with our ethos of 'nurture', 'respect' and 'belonging'? We are seeking an exceptional qualified teacher to join our nurturing and inclusive school community. About the School We believe Lake Haven is a 'Special Place to Learn', nestled within 83 acres of beautiful Warwickshire countryside. We are an Independent Specialist School offering places for up to 40 pupils aged 7-16 with an Educational, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), supporting a range of communication and interaction needs. At Lake Haven, we prioritise emotional wellbeing and a strong sense of belonging, knowing that academic success follows when children feel safe, respected and understood. Our pupils are often autistic learners who may have experienced Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) and high levels of anxiety in previous settings. Here, they rediscover a love of learning in a calm, welcoming and supportive and sometimes muddy environment! We offer a unique setting with access to outdoor learning spaces, animals, forest areas and a sensory room to support regulation and engagement. Our pupils are academically able and benefit from a personalised, nurturing approach. Our school operates using a primary teaching model, where pupils are grouped by stage rather than age. This means the successful candidate will need to be flexible and confident teaching across a range of ages and abilities, while planning and delivering a broad and balanced curriculum tailored to individual needs. We are proud to be rated 'Good' overall by OFSTED, with three areas previously judged 'Outstanding'.We are looking for a very special teacher who understands that a mainstream model does not work for every child. You will be passionate about inclusive education and committed to creating the best possible environment for our learners.,

  • Be a qualified teacher (QTS) with significant teaching experience
  • Have experience working with, or a strong interest in, SEN
  • Be flexible and confident teaching across different ages and developmental stages
  • Plan and deliver an engaging, broad curriculum adapted to meet individual needs
  • Be calm, nurturing, patient and emotionally intelligent
  • Think creatively and be willing to do things differently for the benefit of our pupils
  • Enjoy working as part of a close, supportive team
  • Be happy to embrace outdoor learning - including animals, mud and in all weather! You will be joining a highly supportive, experienced and passionate team who are deeply committed to the children and families we serve. Our staff are proud ambassadors for Lake Haven, and collaboration is at the heart of everything we do.

We believe that looking after our staff is just as important as looking after our pupils. We want our team to feel valued, supported and empowered to develop both personally and professionally.

  • A strong commitment to staff wellbeing, with a supportive and approachable leadership team and an open culture where staff are encouraged to talk, ask for help and share ideas
  • A positive work-life balance, recognising the importance of protecting staff time and creating sustainable approaches to teaching and learning
  • Regular opportunities to reflect and connect as a team, with staff wellbeing built into the culture of the school rather than treated as an add-on
  • High-quality professional development, including training in areas such as autism, trauma-informed practice, attachment, SEMH, regulation, relational practice and therapeutic approaches
  • Opportunities to develop specialist expertise, supported by colleagues with experience across special education and therapeutic practice
  • A personalised approach to career development, with opportunities to take on areas of responsibility and develop leadership skills as the school continues to grow
  • Opportunities for progression, with clear pathways to develop your career within teaching, curriculum leadership, pastoral practice, SEND and wider school leadership
  • A collaborative professional culture, where your ideas, experience and expertise are valued and you are encouraged to contribute to the continued development of the school
  • A genuinely different teaching environment, with access to extensive outdoor spaces, animals, practical learning and creative approaches
  • Small teaching groups, allowing you to build meaningful relationships with pupils and make a tangible difference to their lives
  • The opportunity to be part of something special, helping to shape the future direction of a growing specialist school and develop innovative approaches to inclusive education
  • At Lake Haven, you won't simply be joining a school, you'll be joining a community where relationships matter, creativity is encouraged and every member of staff has the opportunity to make a difference. If you are looking for a role where you can teach differently, develop professionally and make a meaningful difference to children who need it most, we would love to hear from you.
