The Lady Limited

Location: Private Highland Estate, Ross-shire, Scotland Start Date: February 2026 Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

We are looking for a warm, capable couple to join us on a private estate in the Scottish Highlands as our Housekeeper and Cook. This is more than just a job — it’s an opportunity to embrace a lifestyle surrounded by lochs, hills, and wildlife, while becoming part of the fabric of a long-established family home and part of a community.

Our current couple are retiring after 15 wonderful years, and we’d love to welcome new people who will take pride in caring for the house and enjoy the rhythm of life here — from preparing quiet family suppers to helping with lively shoot lunches in the winter.

Responsibilities

Housekeeper Responsibilities

  • Looking after a 12-bedroom family home with care and attention to detail
  • Keeping family and guest rooms fresh, tidy, and welcoming
  • Laundry, ironing, and weekly changeovers
  • Occasionally helping with service at dinner
  • Helping prepare for lunch, serve and tidy up on shoot days
  • Taking responsibility for the security and smooth running of the property

Cook Responsibilities

  • Preparing breakfasts, lunch/packed lunch, and dinner for family and guests
  • Using fresh, seasonal, local ingredients for simple, high-quality meals
  • Catering large lunches for groups during shoot season (40–60 people, October–January)
  • Occasional butchery, light gardening, and keeping lodge vehicles clean and fuelled
  • Occasional airport and railway station pickups/drop offs
  • Assisting with general security and care of the property

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience with strong references
  • A positive, flexible attitude and enjoyment of a varied hands-on role
  • Organised and dependable, with good communication skills
  • Full driving licence essential
  • Already have the legal right to work in the UK

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary
  • A long-term, stable role with a welcoming family
  • Comfortable live-in 3 bed accommodation with its own garden, adjoining the main house
  • Council tax covered, plus an allowance for heating oil (electricity not included)
  • Use of an estate vehicle for shopping and work-related errands
  • The chance to live and work in Scotland’s stunning landscape

If you’re an energetic couple who love the idea of working together, enjoy variety in your day, and are ready to embrace life in the Highlands, we’d be delighted to hear from you.
