A wonderful opportunity has arisen for an experienced, reliable, and hands-on live-out Gardener to take full responsibility for the maintenance, presentation, and day-to-day running of a formal private garden and associated outdoor areas. The role includes garden care, light estate-style duties, contractor liaison, and key-holder responsibilities.
The garden consists of a wild meadow area, two main borders and a small vegetable garden. There is a pond with a pump filtration system, as well as lawns, paths, steps, and patios.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience maintaining formal gardens, strong plant knowledge, ability to work independently, and be comfortable liaising with long-term contractors and service providers. You must be organised, trustworthy, and proactive.
- Hedge cutting and topiary
- Pruning of shrubs, plants, and trees
- Lawn care including mowing, edging, and scarifying
- Weeding of beds, borders, and paths
- Seasonal planting as required
- Maintenance of wild meadow area
- Care of vegetable garden
- Keeping paths, steps, and patios clean and presentable
- General pond upkeep (pump system in place)
A very competitive salary is offered to the successful candidate. Recent checkable references and a valid DBS are required. Interviewing now for an April start.
