Role: Policy Advisor – Local Government, Energy, Environment and Transport

Salary: £45,963.35 (gross) per annum inclusive of London Weighting, with a fixed sum allowance of £1,195. There is the ability to progress to £52,355.86 over the next 3 years.

Current employees in banding 28-34 will maintain their existing salary.

The Labour Party is looking to recruit a Policy Advisor – Local Government, Energy, Environment and Transport. The post-holder will be responsible for supporting the development and communication of Labour Party policy, and holding Labour’s political opponents to account, in relation to Local Government, Energy, Environment and Transport

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience of working on at least one of Local Government, Energy, Environment and Transport policy is essential.
• Excellent research skills and ability to write concise, accurate briefing notes.
• Knowledge of Labour’s political opponents and their policies on Local Government, Energy, Environment and Transport.
• Experience of preparing written and verbal briefings.

The Labour Party’s standard working arrangement is that all employees based in headquarters in London/Newcastle attend their contracted office four days per week, Monday to Thursday. Home working is only authorised on Fridays.
