We are currently seeking an experienced Site Manager with proven Section 278 (S278) highway works experience to join our growing team. The successful candidate will oversee site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standards while maintaining full compliance with local authority requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day site operations for S278 highway and infrastructure works
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel
  • Ensure works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications, and programme
  • Maintain high standards of health & safety and site compliance
  • Liaise with local authorities, engineers, and project managers
  • Conduct site briefings, toolbox talks, and progress reporting
  • Monitor quality control and ensure works meet required standards
  • Manage materials, plant, and labour efficiently

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager or Foreman on S278 highway projects
  • Strong knowledge of highway construction, drainage, kerbing, surfacing, and traffic management
  • Valid SMSTS or SSSTS certification
  • CSCS card (appropriate level)
  • First Aid at Work (preferred)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
