About Us
We are a well-established regional civil engineering contractor delivering infrastructure, groundworks, and civil engineering projects across the region. As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a talented Bid Writer to join our pre‑construction team and support the preparation of high-quality tender submissions.
The Role
As Bid Writer, you will be responsible for producing clear, compelling, and high-quality written content for tender submissions, pre‑qualification questionnaires, and framework applications. Working closely with estimators, engineers, and commercial teams, you will help ensure our bids effectively demonstrate our technical capability, experience, and value to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Write and develop high-quality responses for tender submissions, PQQs/SQs, and framework applications.
- Interpret tender questions and coordinate with internal teams to gather the required information.
- Translate technical information into clear, well‑structured, and persuasive written responses.
- Ensure all submissions are compliant with client requirements and submission guidelines.
- Maintain and develop a library of bid responses, case studies, and supporting documentation.
- Work closely with the estimating and pre‑construction teams during the bid process.
- Review and edit contributions from technical teams to ensure clarity, consistency, and quality.
- Assist with continuous improvement of bid content and submission processes.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Bid Writer, Proposal Writer, or similar role, ideally within construction, civil engineering, or infrastructure.
- Excellent written communication and editing skills.
- Ability to understand technical information and present it clearly in written form.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple submissions simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word.
Desirable
- Experience writing bids for civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with public sector procurement and framework submissions.
