An established £60m turnover Mechanical Contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager to join their growing London operations team. Specialising in high-quality commercial fit-out projects across Central London, this contractor delivers mechanically focused projects valued up to £6m and has built a strong reputation for delivery, repeat business, and long-standing client relationships.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven Contracts Manager looking to take ownership of multiple fast-paced fit-out projects while progressing towards an Operations Manager position in the future.

The Role

Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of 2-4 concurrent projects across Central London, overseeing Project Managers and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, and within budget. Projects are predominantly CAT A & CAT B commercial fit-outs for leading clients and main contractors.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing multiple mechanical fit-out projects from pre-construction through to completion
  • Managing Project Managers and site delivery teams
  • Ensuring projects are delivered on programme and within commercial targets
  • Attending client, design, and progress meetings
  • Managing subcontractors and supply chain performance
  • Monitoring project quality, health & safety, and compliance
  • Supporting commercial teams with valuations, variations, and project reporting
  • Building and maintaining strong client and contractor relationships
  • Providing leadership and technical support across all projects

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing multiple M&E or mechanical projects simultaneously
  • Previous experience within the commercial fit-out sector is highly desirable
  • Strong mechanical building services background
  • Relevant mechanical qualification required (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)
  • Experience working for an M&E or Mechanical Contractor
  • Excellent client-facing and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage fast-paced projects within tight programmes
