We're working on behalf of a well-established, privately owned M&E contractor with a turnover of circa £100m, delivering high-quality projects across the commercial fit-out and design & build sectors. With a strong pipeline of secured work in Central London, they are now looking to appoint an experienced M&E Project Director to join their senior delivery team.

This is a key leadership role within the business, responsible for overseeing multiple projects (typically up to three at a time), each with M&E values of up to £20m.

The Role

As M&E Project Director, you will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of projects from Stage 3 design through to practical completion. You will lead and coordinate full site teams, ensuring programmes, budgets, quality, and client expectations are consistently met.

  • Managing multiple live commercial projects simultaneously
  • Leading project teams including Project Managers, Engineers, and site-based staff
  • Overseeing programme delivery, commercial performance, and risk management
  • Driving coordination from design development through to installation and handover
  • Acting as the key client interface and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships
  • Ensuring high standards of health & safety and quality across all projects

The Candidate

We're looking for a proven M&E professional with a strong track record in the commercial sector.

Requirements:

  • Experience delivering major M&E projects or managing multiple projects concurrently
  • Background working with recognised M&E contractors in the commercial fit-out or D&B space
  • Demonstrable experience taking projects from Stage 3 design through to PC
  • Strong leadership and team management capability
  • Relevant Mechanical or Electrical qualification
  • SMSTS

This opportunity is also open to ambitious Senior Project Managers who are ready to step up into a Project Director-level role.
