Overview
In this role you will lead the UK&I legal function to translate EPDM priorities into market-ready legal strategies. You will partner with the UK&I leadership to counsel on strategic, regulatory, and reputational issues, while shaping the team and processes to improve agility and impact. You’ll help manage crises, protect the brand, and drive cross-functional collaboration across HR, Finance, Supply, Procurement, Sales, and Marketing. This is a hands-on, high-visibility opportunity to influence business outcomes in a consumer goods environment.

Responsibilities
- Partner with the UK&I Managing Director and leadership team on strategic, high-stakes topics
- Align UK&I priorities with EPDM European legal priorities for market execution
- Lead the UK&I legal team (3 lawyers + 1 trainee) in London
- Guide team on complex issues requiring General Counsel involvement
- Enhance team capabilities, tools, and ways of working for agility and impact
- Support strategic agenda with cross-functional business leadership
- Advise on UK&I legal and regulatory developments (food law, marketing, consumer protection)
- Support public policy and external stakeholder engagement with Government Affairs
- Oversee strategic negotiations across the supply chain and with customers
- Escalate high-risk commercial/regulatory matters and coordinate crises
- Protect brand and reputation in partnership with marketing and external communications
- Safeguard company assets and IP through litigation, brand protection, and compliance
Key requirements
- Qualified lawyer with 8+ years’ experience (ideally in law firms and consumer goods)
- Strong training in leading firms or in-house environments
- Deep knowledge of competition, consumer and marketing law
- Excellent judgment aligned with business objectives and risk/reward
- Experience advising senior leaders across functions with UK commercial focus
