Michael Nugent Ltd, in partnership with Ulster University, has established a 27-month Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project and is offering an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and highly motivated Data and AI Engineer graduate to work as a KTP Associate to oversee the development of a unified data and reporting platform that will integrate business systems through Business Central and Power BI, automate data flows, deliver role-specific dashboards and management reporting, enhance visibility of project performance and profitability, and apply data-driven forecasting techniques to improve labour and material estimating for future tenders.
The KTP Associate will lead the development of an integrated reporting and predictive estimating capability within Nugent. The role involves integrating data from multiple business systems, developing dashboards and KPI reporting tools, and creating AI-enabled models to support labour and material estimating for future projects. Working closely with both Nugent and Ulster University, the Associate will combine technical expertise, applied research and stakeholder engagement to embed innovative digital capabilities that support business growth, profitability and operational decision-making. The Associate will also be responsible for ensuring that new knowledge and capabilities are embedded within Nugent through training, documentation, and collaboration with operational teams, while contributing to dissemination and knowledge-sharing activities associated with the Knowledge Transfer Partnership.
Michael Nugent Ltd has recently implemented Microsoft Business Central and is now seeking to unlock the full value of its operational data. This KTP project will develop an integrated reporting and decision-support capability that improves visibility of project performance, supports data-driven decision-making, and enhances estimating processes across the business.
The Associate will design and implement data integration solutions, develop role-specific dashboards and KPI reporting tools, and create AI-enabled models that use historical project data to support labour and material estimating for future tenders. The project provides a unique opportunity to work on challenges involving data integration, business intelligence, machine learning and software development within a real commercial environment.
Working at the interface between industry and academia, the Associate will help deliver innovative digital capabilities that support business growth, operational efficiency and improved commercial performance.
