We are seeking an experienced professional in regulatory affairs/product stewardship/compliance matters in a relatable sector to take full responsibility for executing all product compliance matters across our global product range of e-liquids. This is a new role where you will be reporting to one of the company’s directors and as such a key part will be establishing/adjusting new processes and therefore you must be comfortable with giving and receiving honest and constructive feedback in order to attain the desired outcomes.
To reiterate, this role will, at least initially, comprise a focus on implementation rather than strategic planning. Writing and editing Safety Data Sheets for both new and existing markets globally in a suitably speedy but also accurate manner with minimal errors will be a key part of your output. Regulatory requirements in vaping are something which have become stricter in recent years, and we anticipate that this will continue to be the case in the years to come. We will be looking for you to ensure that we are always able to adapt to these changes across the globe, and ideally be several steps ahead where possible.
Your responsibilities will include activities such as the following:
- Correct product classification in line with CLP regulations
- Safety Data Sheet authoring and editing
- Regulatory submissions on a global basis (with a particular focus on UK/European territories)
- Manage key stakeholder relationships e.g. international sales colleagues, manufacturing partners and regulatory organisations such as HMRC and MHRA
We are looking for candidates to have some experience/attributes in the following key areas:
- 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role within regulatory affairs, product stewardship, compliance or possibly even quality is essential
- Vaping experience specifically is not essential (albeit it is highly advantageous), so long as you have relatable experience from a product-based manufacturing sector with regulated packaging e.g. pharmaceuticals, chemicals, cosmetics/personal health or food and drink
- SDS management end-to-end, from initial creation through to periodic updates
- Relationship management with key regulatory organisations such as MHRA
- Familiarity with MHRA and/or EU Poison Centre notifications would be an advantage, as would experience with REACH registration concepts and obligations
- A degree in Chemistry, Toxicology, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy or similar would be a strong advantage
You will need the following skills in order to succeed in this role:
- Knowledge of key SDS tools such as SBLCore or Lisam ExESS
- Knowledge of the regulatory submission processes in both the UK and EU
- Strong attention to detail in order to correctly manage multiple SKUs/datasets across different international markets
- Fluency in English is of course a must, but additional language skills would be a strong advantage
Benefits:
- Private healthcare scheme
- 25 days’ holiday allowance per year (in addition to bank holidays)
- Smart-casual dress code (wear whatever you feel comfortable in)
- Diverse, international workforce
- Relaxed, low-pressure environment; but with a keen focus on delivery and achieving success
- Fun social events outside of work
- Modern, professional office in a convenient location in Bolton town centre with nearby public transport options/motorway access and free on-site car parking available
- We are very open to new ideas, so please feel free to suggest/request anything that we can do in order to make you more likely to perform at your maximum, and we will certainly do our best to implement it if it makes sense for everyone
Why you would want to work with us in this role:
- The opportunity to see one of the most successful brands in vaping through the forthcoming regulatory challenges
- Gain further experience and knowledge about the world of regulatory affairs in a strictly controlled sector
- Progression potential. Should things go well, you will have the opportunity to build/manage a team of RA/product safety professionals around you or potentially take responsibility for other aspects of quality/health and safety within the business
We are a fast-growing start-up marketing business, with our key focus currently being on the vaping/nicotine alternatives market. Our goal is to ensure our Bar Juice 5000 brand retains its position as the UK's fastest selling brand in its category and expand into new markets in Europe, while also creating/growing other high-performing brands in addition.
