The Community Fundraiser plays a vital role as one of The Kirkwood’s most visible representatives within the local community. Acting as a front facing ambassador, the postholder will build strong relationships, raise awareness of the charity’s work, and inspire individuals, groups, and organisations to support Kirkwood’s mission.
Success in this role relies on establishing a consistent presence across all parts of the community, using local knowledge, cultural awareness, and strong interpersonal skills to engage supporters and generate sustainable income. Working to agreed targets and collaborating closely with the wider Community and Fundraising Team, the Community Fundraiser will promote campaigns, secure participation in events, and identify new opportunities for growth.
As an employee, you will be offered a range of benefits, including 27 days holiday (pro rata for part time staff), access to our Employee Assistance Programme, high-quality, low-cost meals at our Dalton site and complementary therapies. NHS Pensions are also transferable for those already contributing.
The Kirkwood provide specialist care, free of charge, to adults in Kirklees with advanced, progressive illnesses at any time from diagnosis to the end of life, respecting their individual needs and wishes. Care and support are also provided for their family members, friends, and carers, both during the illness and after death.
