The Kingston Academy is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Business Studies Teacher to join our forward-thinking curriculum team. You will deliver high-quality teaching across GCSE and A-Level Business Studies, helping students develop strong analytical, entrepreneurial and real-world business skills. The ability to teach A-Level Economics is desirable but not essential.
This new post will augment our well-established team and reflects both the popularity of the subject and the growing number of pupils opting for Business Studies at GCSE and A-Level, as well as Economics at A-Level. Working collaboratively within the faculty, you will contribute to curriculum planning, effective assessment and enrichment opportunities that deepen students’ understanding of business and finance. You will foster positive relationships, maintain high expectations and create a purposeful learning environment that reflects the school’s values of ambition, kindness and community.
The Kingston Academy is an outstanding Secondary School in North Kingston, which opened for the first time in September 2015 with a cohort of Year 7 pupils. TKA has received a substantial capital grant for the refurbishment of the existing educational facilities and for additional new modern buildings which we have now taken possession of. Our mission is to provide a world-class education for all the young people within our community to ensure that every pupil is safe, happy and succeeds. We now have over 1000 pupils across the seven year groups from year 7 to year 13.

Interview Procedure
Our selection procedure will aim to identify with rigour whether the candidate fulfils the requirements of the post and will include the consideration of the candidate’s suitability to work with children and young people. The process will include:
- Full Lesson Observation with selected class;
- Meeting with a panel of our pupils for informal question and answer session;
- Interview with Head Teacher and/or Senior staff and the Curriculum Lead.
