The Kingston Academy is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and highly skilled Curriculum Leader for Design and Technology. They will be committed to providing the best educational experience for students and will drive excellence in teaching, learning and leadership within the subject. The Kingston Academy is an outstanding Secondary School in North Kingston, which opened for the first time in September 2015 with a cohort of Year 7 pupils. TKA has received a substantial capital grant for the refurbishment of the existing educational facilities and for additional new modern buildings which we have now taken possession of. Our mission is to provide a world‑class education for all the young people within our community to ensure that every pupil is safe, happy and succeeds. We now have over 1000 pupils across the seven year groups from year 7 to year 13.

  • A keenness to shape and deliver a coherent, compelling and high quality Design and Technology curriculum.
  • Willingness to develop and improve teaching and learning resources and professional development to support the delivery of excellent Design and Technology.
  • Strong knowledge of current trends in Design and Technology Education, including new technologies and teaching methods.
  • A strong classroom practitioner, modelling excellent practice, and supporting others in refining their teaching.
  • A proven track record of achieving strong results in delivering both GCSE and A level Design and Technology.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff and students.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Flexible and committed to engage in the wider curriculum through our Going Beyond and enrichment activities.
