Role: Deputy Camp Manager (Rowing Camp)

Department: Sport

Responsible to: Head Coach of Rowing Camp

Rate of Pay: £210 per day

Overall purpose of the post: As the Deputy Camp Manager, you will support the Camp Manager with the responsibility for the camp, providing motivation, support, and direction. Your support in programming, customer care, diplomacy, financial management, safeguarding and health and safety will be crucial in creating a safe and enjoyable environment for campers and staff. Maintaining open communication with the operations team and parents is vital for a seamless experience. You will also help handle staff rotas, manage daily staff ratios, and ensure efficient camp operations within budgetary requirements. As Deputy Camp Manager, you will be responsible for directly managing and training the staff. Part of your role will be to pro-actively pre-plan the day's activities using the equipment available. This will need to be communicated with your team as part of a morning briefing at the camp and ensure that each one is fulfilling their role requirements whilst adhering to the camp’s Policies & Procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be contactable throughout the camp and operational by staff and parents.
  • Help manage the team effectively.
  • Ensure all team members are used to their strengths.
  • Set up and down the venue when required.
  • Ensure standard of product delivery are kept at all times.
  • Attend relevant planning de-brief meeting(s).
  • Ensure camp staff adhere to all policies.
  • Communicate directly with parents.
  • Report to the Camp Manager any staff or customer grievances.
  • Contribute to the management of all daily processes and procedures.
  • Ensure camp stock inventory is kept up to date and required supplies requested in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure all camp equipment is returned as received.
  • Being able to adapt to the needs of the business.

NB: As Deputy Camp Manager your role will include a range of other tasks and responsibilities which are not listed above.
